Maggie is a banjo player and singer from Boyle, Co. Roscommon, in the west of Ireland.
From the west of Ireland, Maggie Carty brings soulful energy to Irish folk. Now based in Melbourne, she blends driving banjo, bluesy undertones, and evocative vocals to reimagine timeless songs. Raised in a musical family, her debut album Ebb and Flow reflects a deep connection to tradition with fresh storytelling, rhythm, and heart.
Since her arrival in Australia, she has performed at various concert venues across VIC and NSW and toured the Australian festival circuit including; The National Celtic Festival Portarlington, National Folk Festival, Illawarra Folk Festival, Ceol Aneas, Nelson New Zealand, Port Fairy Folk Festival, Cresfest and Woodford Folk Festival.
